Sound and letter:</strong><br>- If the letter "g" is followed by the letters e, i, or y it sounds soft like an /g/:<br>Example: <br>+ ge - gem, germ, angel, general<br>+ gi - gist, magic, giraffe<br>+ gy - gym, energy, gyrus<br>- If the letter ‘g’ is followed by any letter (except e, y, i), it is a hard ‘g’ and sounds like a /g/.<br>Example: goat, game, gum, grip, green,...<br><strong>2.
